Let me just start this article by saying I am a big Demi Lovato fan, and its not just because of her music. Its because she has had her own fair shares of struggles and issues to fight through just like normal people do , and it wasn’t displayed as this media crazed fiasco. Her family and management decided to do an intervention in 2010, when Demi Lovato’s anger issues became so bad she actually punch one of her back up dancers. After the intervention, Demi took full responsibility for the incident and entered into a rehabilitation treatment facility from 2010 to 2011 to overcome her struggle with bulimia, self-injury and self-medication with drugs and alcohol. She was eventually diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder and began moving on the road to recovery and trying to give back instead of causing hurt to herself and others.

In May of this year she was awarded for her dedication as a mentor to teens and young adults with mental health challenges at a National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day event hosted by SAMHSA, and last month she traveled all the way to Kenya on her birthday to give back to the organzation, Free the Children in Africa. What I really admire about Demi is the fact that she overcame these struggles, gives back to the community in a major way and gained weight to get her body back healthy while not feeding into ridiculous entertainment industry standards about size and weight. Go Demi !!

This year has already started off with a big bang for Demi’s acting and her music career ; with her fourth studio release , Demi, debuting at Number Three on Billboard for during the first week of sales in May and making it the best debut week for her entire career thus far. The record has much stronger and personal touch than her previous work , and Demi really reached deep down to put this album out by co-writing every song on the album. That is just awesome ! Demi will also be returning as a mentor and judge on the X Factor airing September 11th and will be on five episodes of Glee this season. Can’t wait to see Demi shine this year and enjoy her successes with her health and happiness back in tact. 🙂

Demi’s favorite foods to eat are pickles and eggs, and with Demi moving into the direction of health and happiness; we at Lhyme decided to make a healthy version of Deviled Eggs and added a Serrano Pepper to give it a nice kick just like Demi 🙂
