I’m so hungry, I could flip a table, like a Duran Duran band member in a “Hungry Like the Wolf” video. “Your juice is like wine (hopefully Sangria)” and yes, “I am on the hunt down after you!”
Duran Duran rocked the UK in the late 70s early 80s, with their posh yet punky sounds. They were extremely influential in our pop culture music history, when they first came on TV in the early 80s, and they exploded in the mid 80s. They were on MTV when the network was very young. Many 80s Artists, expressed that they had fun in their videos because MTV was brand new and they really did not know the impact it would have on their overall careers. Duran Duran actually took MTV videos to the next level. They spent a lot of money to have cool videos that were like mini-movies and in expensive locales. They also popularized the lifestyle of the wealthy James Bond like Jet-setter , a wealthy man who would travel to all these exotic locations and hook up with model type chicks from around the world. Very Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams, pre-Robin Leach. In many of Duran Duran’s videos they were on an exotic island or jungle, on fancy yachts, having sex with some native hot chick named Rio who evidently “dances on the sand” right by the famous river “twisting through the dusty land.”
They also switched up their looks and added more cool videos in the early 90s, such as “Ordinary World,” an ever-so-fun ballad, and them rocking out underwater with a mermaid in “Come Undone.” They had lost a band member, who was in rehab, and had to constantly switch up their sounds. They are still touring to packed houses, and rightfully deserved.
All this discussion does make me hungry, or more ravenously, haungry. I am in the mood for fancy wine, such as the wine that has blended three varietals, entitled “Ménage e Tois.” Sounds like a joke title, but it truly is a delicious threesome of wines (Available in red and white). This will enhance the flavor in my food. Also, some top shelf fancy caviar. I hear the more expensive, the better it is. I wish I had a yacht!
I know from the band’s world travels, they have to be fans of international cuisine. What type of fancy Brazilian cuisine could Rio prepare for me after an exhausting dance on the sand? I hope the meal would be as exciting as her makeup/dance moves in the video. Makes me want to try all sorts of South American, Asian, Indian, and Ancient Cuisines, mixed with a dash of posh British rich people food. LOL. Sounds like a great dinner, while I listen to Duran Duran.
Now onto the food !! Despite Duran Duran having an extensive palate for international cuisine, when I did a little digging I found their all time favorite food to be something very simple with no frills. Duran Duran’s favorite food is simple, homemade mashed potatoes…the perfect comfort food in my opinion and possibly due to their extensive touring and world travels it may just be simple comfort food the band during their down time. I decided to take a Halloween spin on these mashed potatoes and make them into little ghosts !! Boo !!! :)))
