I recently reached out to Tishy to find out what her favorite things to eat are and her response was “pizza, shrimp linguine Alfredo, chicken!!”. I decided to create a twist on a recipe to incorporate all her favorite foods and made a Chicken Alfredo Pizza Bowl! It’s got Alfredo sauce, chicken and all the cheesy goodness in one delicious pizza crust bowl. Enjoy!

Chicken Alfredo Pizza Bowl Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
  • Olive oil, for brushing
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese to garnish each bowl
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Flour to roll out the dough
  • Sea Salt and Ground Black Pepper (to taste)

Directions

  1. Slice the chicken into 1/4-inch-thick strips, and lay them on a plate and season with the sea salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of the butter. When the butter melts, raise the heat to medium-high and add the chicken in 1 layer. Cook, without moving the pieces, until the underside has browned, 1 to 2 minutes. Flip the pieces, and cook until browned and cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes more. Transfer the chicken to a medium bowl.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining tablespoons butter. When the butter has mostly melted, whisk in the heavy cream and oregano and bring to a simmer for 3 minutes. Reduce heat to just keep the sauce warm while you make your pizza dough bowl.
  4. Whisk the 1 1/2 cups of Parmesan cheese into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Now on to the dough bowls! Lightly flour a flat surface and place the pizza dough on top. Cut into 4 even pieces. Create dough balls. Cover loosely and let rise for 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  7. On a large cookie sheet, cover with wax/parchment paper. Roll out the dough balls and bush them with olive oil.
  8. Take 6 to 7 inch bowl that should be about 4 inches deep and brush the outside of the bowl with olive oil facing down on the parchment paper.
  9. Use olive oil and brush a ring of oil around the dough.
  10. Bake for five minutes then rotate pan and bake for five more minutes. Lift off cooked dough bowl (use an oven mitt) and stand upright on a cooling rack to cool.
  11. Once the bowl is slightly cooled, pour in the Alfredo sauce to coat the bottom of the pizza bowl and top with chicken. Pour the remaining Alfredo sauce on top and garnish with Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
